United Services adds eighth member
Addition paves the way for network expansion and an increased level of service
CHICAGO, Tuesday, March 6, 2007 - United Services, the maintenance and engineering division of United, announced today that Airline Tech Reps (ATR), based in Jensen Beach, Florida has become the eighth member of the United Services Line Maintenance Network. The strategic network, the largest of its kind, extends line maintenance and emergency maintenance services to more than 95 stations worldwide. The addition of ATR, which holds an FAA 145 certificate, not only increases the number of cities served, it also expands the number of skilled technicians that can service aircraft for routine maintenance and as part of United Services’ Global Emergency Maintenance (GEM) teams.
“This addition is a great fit for United Services and the Line Maintenance Network,” says Mike Lorenzini, Managing Director of Line Maintenance for United Services. “The additional locations they bring to our extensive network, coupled with their standardization of equipment, systems, and processes make them a great resource for line maintenance. ATR’s strengths coupled with United Services’ worldwide network of stations and extensive experience means we can really provide the very best technical expertise virtually anywhere in the world.” Mark Smith, Senior Vice President ATR, adds, “This is a unique opportunity for ATR to continue to grow while collaborating with some of the leading line maintenance providers in the industry. We look forward to being able to continue to provide outstanding service to our customers with the expanded resources of the Line Maintenance Network.”
United Services launched the Line Maintenance Network in August 2005 with four fixed-base operators (FBOs) that are industry leaders: Executive Air, JET Aircraft Maintenance, Jett Care, and Pegasus Aircraft Maintenance. Mexico City–based Mexicana Airlines and Hong Kong–based China Aircraft Services Limited (CASL) joined the network in 2006. ATR will provide service in Baltimore, MD (BWI), Chicago Midway, IL (MDW), Kansas City, MO (MCI), Philadelphia, PA (PHL) and Reno, NV (RNO).
