United Services welcomes seventh member to Line Maintenance Network
Expansion allows the network to serve customers in Hong Kong and other Chinese cities
CHICAGO, Monday, October 23, 2006 - United Services, the maintenance and engineering division of United, today announced that Hong Kong-based China Aircraft Services Limited (CASL) has become the seventh member of the United Services Line Maintenance Network. Already the largest network of its kind in the industry, the United Services Line Maintenance Network can now serve customers in Hong Kong and several other cities across China, in addition to its more than 90 existing locations around the world.
"With this latest expansion, the network can provide one-stop shopping for all our customer's line maintenance needs with a single point of contact for billing, contract management, customer service, and performance management," says Alan Butterfield, vice president-Line Maintenance, United Services. "In addition, customers can receive a greater breadth of services by utilizing United's vast global network of tooling and equipment, even at non-United locations."
United Services launched the first-of-its-kind strategic network in August 2005 with four industry-leading fixed-base operators (FBOs): Executive Air, JET Aircraft Maintenance, Jett Care, and Pegasus Aircraft Maintenance. Mexico City-based Mexicana Airlines joined the network in May 2006.
CASL brings more than 8 years of line maintenance and ground support experience to the network. CASL's maintenance operations include transit, turnaround, and overnight checks; nonroutine repairs; A- and B-checks; cabin maintenance including in-flight entertainment systems; engine changes; and outstation maintenance support. CASL is currently developing a hangar facility at Hong Kong International Airport in order to provide a more comprehensive range of line and base aircraft maintenance services. The hangar facility is scheduled to open in 2008.
"We're excited to be part of the Line Maintenance Network," says Angus Cheung, General Manager, CASL. "We're proud to help further expand the reach of the network by offering our extensive list of services to customers across Asia."
The United Services Line Maintenance Network provides customers a broad range of airport locations for routine line maintenance needs, as well as enhanced access to United Services' Global Emergency Maintenance (GEM) teams. GEM offers 24-hour on-call service for aircraft-on-ground situations, including engine changes, major and minor structural repairs, fueltank entry, and flight control repairs and aircraft recovery.
