United Services Secures Contract with Air China for Repair and Overhaul of 20 Engines

Contract comes as the airlines celebrate 10 years of doing business together

CHICAGO, IL - JUNE 15, 2006 - United Services, the maintenance and engineering division of United, today announced that it has secured a significant contract with Air China to provide heavy maintenance services for 20 PW4000 series engines. Work on the contract comprising of 10 PW4077D and 10 PW4056/4060 engines has already begun at United Services Maintenance Center in San Francisco, and is scheduled for completion by mid 2007. The contract represents major growth for the United Services and Air China business relationship.

"Over the past decade we've developed a strong working relationship with the Air China team, and this year we're celebrating 10 years of successfully doing business together," says Garth Petersen, managing director - Sales and Marketing, United Services. "This contract demonstrates the trust Air China has in us and is a testament to the skill and expertise of our employees in engine maintenance."

United Services' engine shop is the only airline engine facility of a U.S. carrier to hold the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2000 certification. It's a standard the shop has met each year since 1997, signifying a commitment to continually updating and improving processes. As the launch customer for the Boeing 777, United Services has extensive experience with PW4000 112-inch series engines. In fact, United Services is the only airline maintenance center equipped to work on the PW4000 112-inch series engine.

"We've been extremely pleased with the work United Services has provided for us over the past 10 years, and we look forward to continuing our relationship for many years to come," says Mr. Ma Kui Liang, Senior Vice President, Air China.

In addition to being one of United Services' top customers, Air China is also a code share partner with United and a new member of the Star Alliance.
