United Services and Korean Air Enjoy Reciprocal Agreement
Expands Maintenance Cooperation Between the Two Airlines
CHICAGO, IL - JUNE 8, 2004 - United Services recently reached a reciprocal maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) agreement with Korean Air, in a distinctive move reflecting their continued commitment to airline operator-customer relationships.
Under the terms of the agreement, Korean Air and United Services will work cooperatively to identify product lines where we can use their technology and expertise to serve each other's MRO needs. Under the current arrangement, Korean Air has chosen United Services to continue providing MRO services for its PW4090 engines and will send three additional engines for repair to United Services over the next 12 months. During the same period United Services will use Korean Air for some overflow work, previously scheduled for an outside vendor, on its PW4056s.
Greg Hall, senior vice president-United Services, said his organization is recognized around the world for its capabilities and attention to craftsmanship and safety. "It comes as no surprise to us that Korean Air, long respected for its commitment to maintaining some of the most stringent safety standards in the industry, would choose to broaden its relationship with us."
