C32A Engine Overhaul
The first C-32A engine from the Vice Presidential Fleet was scheduled for overhaul recently and United Services was awarded the contract. Induction took place the week of June 4.
The Vice Presidential Fleet, which flies the vice president, first lady and other top government officials, is managed by Boeing's Derivative Aircraft Programs. Ken Hart, United Services manager-Customer Relations for Government Programs, United Services, says Boeing "has shown complete confidence in United Services by selecting us to overhaul this engine."
"If we don't step up and perform, we won't be asked to come back," says Hart. "But we hope that with our expertise with this engine, we'll be asked and have the privilege of doing further overhauls."
The Pratt & Whitney PW2000 scheduled for overhaul is one of the engines that powers the fleet's four Boeing 757s. Until now, United Services has primarily done component support for the fleet's engines and has completed several APU repairs. United's experience with the PW2000 also includes maintenance for a separate military program.
